A question, "If the front door opens into the foyer in front of a staircase, it creates massive amounts of negative energy and this is bad feng shui. Is this true or false? Mostly True.

The main door is being known as "The Mouth of Chi" in feng shui, as this is how the house absorbs its much needed Chi, or energy nourishment.

What happens when a staircase is facing the main door directly?

In this situation, Staircases can cause the chi to rush through the front door and upstairs depriving the first floor of positive chi.

NO NO for placement of Staircases

- Don’t place a staircase directly across from front door entrance.
- Don’t make staircase cramped and narrow
- Don’t place a bedroom door that opens directly into a staircase.
- Don’t use a spiral staircase because it cause energy to twist and rush upward and create negative chi.

FS Home Tips #05: House @ T-Junction

In the world of Feng Shui, it is the best that you don't need to implement cures to fix things, therefore the objective here is to get a property that is good to start with.

With that in mind, living at the end of a t-intersection is a NO because it can cause harm to health, finances and relationships due to the concentrated flow of chi pointing directly at the house. Just imagine and you can visualize cars hitting straight into your house and that is bad for the occupiers.

Adding fencing, walls or strategically planted trees or a fountain can help dissipate some of the forceful chi coming  from the t-intersection.

FS Home Tips #04: Bedroom Fengshui

Just to share on an article i stumple upon while surfing the internet. I believe this will really help someone who is having problem, trying to figure how to position their bed. Article is extracted from Master Soon website.

1. Financial Set Back Bed Room

Normally, the bed room is located at the back of a house for enjoyment of privacy; whereas the living room is at the front part of the house. However, the new and contemporary condo design has bed room at the front part and near to the main door with the living room at the back of the condo unit. This exposes the bed room. In feng shui this is called as “Financial Set Back House”. This kind of house may give financial problem to its occupants.


2. Sexual Affair Bed Room

If the door of the bed room is facing directly to the main door, this would cause problematic affair to the occupant. Confrontation of main door with the door of the bed room means the qi from outside is flowing directly into the bed room which represents personal life easily. Direct qi interaction between main opening (main door) and inner opening (bed room door) reflects intimacy relationship is highly possible.

3. High Sexual Desire Bed Location

Locating your bed at the entrance of the bed room or facing the door of the bed room exposes the bed easily to outsider. Door in feng shui is seen as an opening to outside world. This exposure means the occupant has high sexual desire and opens his arm to welcome romance.

4. Sickness – Bed Room Door Confronting Toilet

Bathrooms or toilets have long been associated with negative Qi. If your bedroom door faces a toilet door (see picture below), negative Qi will flow from the bathroom to your bedroom. A prolonged period of time staying in such ber room would definitely cause health deterioration.

5. Unstable Emotion – Bed room door Confronting Kitchen Door

Kitchen is link to fire element in feng shui. A bed room door which faces directly to the kitchen entrance would cause emotional imbalance to the occupant. This would gradually become worse if the bed room door is confronting the stove directly and visibly.

6. Career Disadvantage – Bed without Solid Bed Head Support

It is very important that your bed is placed against a solid wall. The solid wall symbolizes your career and your life foundation.
